Soloevent.id – The Solo Batik Carnival (SBC) is all about Batik. So, the Solo Batik Carnival 2019 coordinator, Ragowo Ade Kurniawan, said Batik should dominate the costumes. It will be promoting Batik Solo.
In this 12th edition, the costumes will use Lereng and Kawu Batik motifs. In Radio Sevent on Saturday (07/13/19), Ade explained in use of it in the SBC 2019 to educate the millennial about Batik. “Showing batik in sheets of cloth is a manifestation of the development of batik in the millennial era,” He said.
Ade added the type of batik used is printed-batik cloth. “That is irrational when we used Batik Tulis as costumes for wearing only one time,” he said.
The participants can explore Batik to be everything that they want but can’t lose its characteristic.
Solo Batik Carnival 2019 will carry Suvarnabhumi: The Golden of ASEAN as the theme. Southeast Asia characteristic will adorn the costumes, for example, Malaysia with the Petronas Tower, Thailand with White Elephant, Cambodia features temples and others.
The Grand Carnival SBC 2019 will be on July 27. It opens at Jl. Bhayangkara. Participants pass by Jl. Slamet Riyadi to finish in Surakarta City Hall.
