Next June, Solo will present the modern carnival Vasternburg Carnival.

This carnival is planned to be held on June 6 – 7, 2014 at Fort Vestenburg Solo.

Vastenburg Carnival is a carnival that uses the architectural space of Fort Vastenburg as an arena for performing carnivals which became a symbol of local cultural defense. The carnival, which was held the first time in Solo, will later begin with a procession from the monument zero kilometers Pemandengan (located in front of Solo City Hall) then along Jl Jenderal Sudirman, and enter the Fort Vastenburg area.

The theme of the Vastenburg Festival this time is Bamboo, it’s my costume, the event is planned to be the establishment of a national Carnival Day and Solo as its host. Not only contemporary costumes that are displayed, traditional costumes, traditional music and other arts also enliven this event. Not only that, the best work in this event’s pre-event workshop will also be displayed in the opening procession.
