Soloevent.id – We’ve all heard the popular Indonesian Umbrella Festival (FPI) is coming and everyone just await to take a picture with. The committee always decorates the venue with colorful umbrellas.
How do the umbrellas adorn will be?
On Wednesday (6/12/2019), Soloevent met with the Chairperson of the Indonesian Umbrella Festival Heru Prasetya. In its sixth edition, FPI will be held at the Lapangan Garuda of Prambanan Temple. So, the decorations will be aligned with the Prambanan Temple and create unity between the venue and the event.
“We use white umbrellas to unite with the Prambanan temple’ stone. It created by participants who participated here,” he explained.
FPI carries the theme, Sepayung Daun. The theme was inspired by leaves were used to protect them from heat and rain. It also stamps on the reliefs temples in East Java.
Since 2018, FPI has been held outside Solo City. Heru explained the festival was the only one in Indonesia and had become a national and international concern, so it considered moving out. Also, the Ministry of Tourism took the Indonesian Umbrella Festival as the 100 Wonderful Events in Indonesia. Therefore, as the nomadic event, the organizers want to highlight the historic places in Indonesia.
According to Heru, Prambanan Temple was chosen because There is a tree which fits with the theme that can drape over the visitor.
