Soloevent.id – Have you been waiting for Solo Batik Carnival (SBC) 2018? Relax, the event will be held in a few days. This year there are two series of events held, namely Exhibition and Grand Carnaval.
The exhibition takes place at Vastenburg Fortress and is held for five days, Wednesday-Sunday (11-15 / 7/2018). This activity was enlivened by culinary, fashion and UMKM stands. There will also be an award for the best participants.
The peak of Solo Batik Carnival 2018 was held on Saturday (07/14/2018). Like the previous editions, participants will march about 3 kilometers from Sriwedari Stadium to Vastenburg Fortress. According to Chairman of the Solo Batik Carnival Foundation, Lia Imelda, there were 158 SBC participants who followed the procession.
“In addition to the SBC participants, the carnival was also enlivened by the National Shipping Academy marching band, the Bendara Lifting Forces, and the Gilang Ramadhan Studio Band students,” she explained at a press conference at Solo City Hall on Tuesday (07/10/2018).
There were also guest participants from outside the city, including Samarinda, East Lombok, Semarang and Salatiga. “Foreign students who are studying at Sebelas Maret University will also enliven the carnival,” added Lia.
Before going into the road, the Grand Carnival will be opened at Sriwedari Stadium at 13.00 WIB. Art Director of Solo Batik Carnival 2018, Ragowo Ade Kurniawan, explained that each SBC defile would accompany the appearance of professional dancers. “They will bring typical dances from the regions that are appointed in this year’s SBC costume,” he said.
A little info, SBC 2018 raises the theme “Ika Paramartha” which describes cultural diversity in Indonesia. Eight regions that became the inspiration for SBC 2018 costumes are Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Sulawesi, Papua, and DKI Jakarta.
Not only dances, SBC 2018 Grand Carnival will also be enlivened by Trie Utami. When appearing, a former jury of talent searches who often cast the term “pitch control” will be accompanied by the best performers of SBC 2018 from each defile.
