Soloevent.id – The 12th Solo Batik Carnival event held on Saturday (07/27/2019). This year, SBC raised the theme Suvarnabhumi: The Golden of ASEAN. This aims to make batik more worldwide.
The 130 participants enlivened the SBC Grand Carnival. They come from various regions. This time, the youngest participant is 1.5 years old.
Along the carnival route (Jl. Bhayangkara-Jl. Slamet Riyadi-Surakarta City Hall), people entertained with SBC costumes. At this 12th SBC, participant’s costumes enhanced with icons of eleven countries in Southeast Asia.
The participants divided into eleven defiles, “Wonderful Indonesia” (Indonesia), “Kay Ganda Philippines” (Philippines), “Truly Asia” (Malaysia), “Amazing Thailand” (Thailand), “Passion Made Possible” (Singapore) , “Be Anchented, Myyanmar” (Myanmar), “The Green Heart of Borneo”, “Simply Beautiful Laos” (Laos), “Kingdom of Wonder Cambodia” (Cambodia), “Timeless Charm, Vietnam” (Vietnam ), “Being First Has Its Rewards” (Timor Leste).
The opening was identified by giving the accents of Loro Blonyo (Javanese bridal couple, Dewi Sri and Raden Sadono). The audience also treated to dances from the two SBC mascots. Indah Nevertari, singer Rising Star Indonesia, lit up for Opening Ceremony.
Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo open the event. Ganjar wears the costume of the SBC from the Timor Leste defile. Achmad Purnomo also came to accompanied Ganjar wore a carnival costume.
Head of the Surakarta Tourism Office’s Creative Economy Development Division, Nunuk Mari Hastuti, said that with the Solo Batik Carnival, it hopes that tourism in Solo will be increasingly recognized on the world stage.
