Soloevent.id – The Solo City Jazz music concert was held on Saturday-Sunday (29-30 / 9/2018). SCJ carries the tagline “Jazz-Up Heritage”. This event is always held in places that have historical value. SCJ 2018 will be held at Pasar Gede, Jaladara Train, Sriwedari Plaza, and Ngarsopuro.
On Saturdays, musicians will appear on the open stage. The stage measuring around 8×10 meters with a height of 80 centimeters will be placed in front of Pasar Gede. The performers appeared starting at 7:00 p.m.
“We wanted to hold a Solo City Jazz for a long time with Pasar Gede background. Finally it is done this year, “said the Chair of the 2018 Solo City Jazz Organizer, Wenny Purwanti, at a press conference at Jackstar Resto on Saturday (09/28/2018).
On the second day, three SJC 2018 main performers: Margie Segers, Ermy Kullit, and Kristianto Jubing will entertain invited guests on the Jaladara Train. The train departs from Purwosari Station at 6:30 p.m.
The train will stop at Sriwedari Plaza and Ngarsopuro intersection. At two points there is a minimalist stage. The three musicians will go down and entertain people who are doing activities on the car free day.
SJC 2018’s second day was also enlivened by Riverwall (will be performing at Plaza Sriwedari and Kemlaka (performing at the Ngarsopuro intersection).
Wenny explained that the venue selection was based on jazz music closer to the community.
“We also want to introduce music fans to special and unique spots in the city of Solo which are tourism destinations,” he explained.
Since it was first held in 2009 at Triwindu Market, Solo City Jazz has often moved to other venues, such as Vastenburg Fortress and Taman Balekambang.
