Soloevent.id – D3 Tourism Faculty Students of the Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta  (Formatgata UPW FIB) held the third UNS Tourism Expo. “Road to Digital Tourism” held at Lake UNS Surakarta on Monday (6/24/2019).

This exhibition presents booths and five tourist villages in Solo. They targeted visitors from foreign and domestic tourists, local officials, entrepreneurs, students, and various stakeholders.

The exhibition cooperates with travel agents, tourist villages, culinary seeker, and others. There are also KKMS (Surakarta Young Keroncong Community), Outplain, DJ Henry, and presentations from each tourism village.

Chairperson of the UNS Tourism Expo Committee, Fitriasari, said the theme “Road to Digital Tourism” was chosen because we entered the digital era, including the tourism industry.

“It’s all about digital, like ordering a ticket through online applications. So, through this event we invited several tourist villages, especially those that are still traditional, to promote their tourism in a modern way. It is like Kampung Batik Laweyan tourist village that has used modern methods in its promotion. The aim of it is to introduce tourist villages in the Solo,” Restu explained to Soloevent.

The UNS Tourism Expo 2019 is expected to increase the number of tourists visiting Solo. A talk show entitled Community-Based Tourism vs Digital Tourism with Hannif Andy Al-Ansori (Tourism Development Consultant) as speaker was great.
