Soloevent.id – Students’ Choir (PSM) of Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta, Voca Erudita, held a 3 decade celebration concert at the Auditorium of UNS Surakarta on Sunday (6/5/2018).
At this concert, Voca Erudita presents the theme “Cinta dan Dedikasi” as a form of gratitude for existence for 30 years. Established on December 17, 1987, the theme implies up to 30 years of age, love and dedication are the two essences that continue to be passed down through generations by this choir group.
Like nostalgic, this concert presents a special performer from Voca Erudita alumni, Infinito Voca Erudita. In this session the alumni performed the song “Bohemian Rhapsody” from Queen; regional songs from Central Java “Romo Ono Maling” by the lecturer of ISI Surakarta, Wahyu Purnomo; and continued with “Lilin-Lilin Kecil” which was popularized by Chrisye. The song mentioned at the end was presented to commemorate the Voca Erudita alumni who had passed away and to Mr. Joseph as the creator of the UNS hymn and march.
At the peak session, Voca Erudita performed with Move On Orchestra and performed 7 songs. The first song is the song “Medley Pop”, which is popular songs that are usually performed by Voca Erudita from time to time, then the song “Doa” which is a musically of poems by Amir Hamzah, followed by a vocal group performance with 9 singers from Voca Erudita with nuanced songs broadway titled “New York New York”.
Like watching Pitch Perfect 2, when Barden Bellas sang with the alumni, at the end of this concert Voca Erudita also sang with the alumni by singing “Indonesia Jaya”. As an encore, the soundtrack of The Greatest Showman musical, “A Million Dreams, was delivered in a choir as a peak from the three-decade Voca Erudita concert.
