Soloevent.id – Every tribe must have special food when celebrating holidays. Chinese has no exception. When the Chinese New Year arrived, the food served had good meaning. One of the best known is the Keranjang cake. Although there is only once a year, the public is so interested and likes it. This cake can’t be separated from the Chinese New Year. The taste of sweetness and sweetness is expected to give a sweet life without bitterness. Basket cakes are usually accompanied by red bowl cakes which symbolize the blooming of life and prosperity.

In Chinese New Year celebrations, noodles also become a mandatory menu for Chinese people. In Chinese tradition, this is a symbol of longevity. The way to eat is different from the habits of many people. The noodles must be eaten by sipping and not to be cut, the meaning is to have a brotherhood and long life. When you eat, you have to use chopsticks. This symbolizes patience, patience and tenacity.

Other dishes served during Chinese New Year celebration are milkfish or catfish. The fish is served whole and served with the head facing the elders as a tribute to the younger generation to their parents / teachers.

There are also dumplings that symbolize wealth, and Yee Sang, which is a mixture of radish slices with other vegetables, meat, and stirred sauce until it spills so that the sustenance also spills over.

The dishes are more complete because there are special fresh fruits sold during the Chinese New Year, namely Kim Kit orange and Mandarin oranges. Orange Kim Kit is sold by one tree in a pot, the skin is orange, the fruit is small and not sweet. The rare Kim Kit orange tree is only sold during Chinese New Year. Because it is said to bring luck, the price is up to millions of Rupiah.

Besides oranges there are also dragon fruit. Dragon fruit farmers in Sukoharjo claimed to experience a surge in demand when Chinese New Year arrived. Similar to oranges, dragon fruit symbolizes goodness. In Chinese culture, dragons are believed to be good luck because dragon zodiac means triumph.
