Soloevent.id – Solo is thick with culture and performing arts. One of them is in the Wayang Orang Sriwedari. It established during Sri Susuhunan Pakubowono X era.

The performance takes approximately two hours. The dialogues use Javanese. If you don’t understand the language, the performance leader will give you the storyline. So, you can enjoy the show.
It has different stories each day. It might be Mahabarata or Ramayana. The Mahabarata epics feature four icons (Semar, Gareng, Petruk, and Bagong). The figures called Punakawan will give you a bundle of laughs.
They will appear when the climax of the stories up. It called Goro-Goro that give you a relaxing moment before end. The jokes always are there with the moral value inside.
Many lessons can take after watching the Wayang Orang. One of them is karma always exist. Sometimes, Macapat songs will display according to the storyline, for example, Megatruh. The song will sing when a character died. But, if the players are happy they will sing the song Dhandanggula.
