Soloevent.id – It has been four years since Solo regularly held Ramayana Opera performances during the Eid holiday. This time, the play shown is “Gua Kiskenda”, which tells the story of Sugriwa-Subali’s battle with Mahesa Sura-Lembu Sura. It is good versus evil.
Different from the previous edition, this year’s performance was held inside Vastenburg Fortress, it remains with the outdoor concept. Utilizing the natural property of two banyan trees, the stage is shaped like a cave in a thick forest.
The Ramayana Opera combines dance, wayang orang, and music. Almost all dialogs use Javanese. If you don’t understand Javanese, don’t be afraid, because the story line is easy to digest plus the performance is run-down.
Ramayana Opera is for free. You can enjoy this event from 18-20 June 2018. The performance starts at 7:30 p.m.
