Soloevent.id – Indonesian Umbrella Festival (FPI) has been held since 2014. From year to year, FPI always gives new nuances, starting from the theme of the event, venue, to the performers. But there is one that FPI has maintained, which is always cooperating with umbrella artisans and the creative arts community, both from domestic and abroad.
“Because this festival is an international event, we invite countries (especially in Asia) that have a strong umbrella tradition, so the FPI umbrella activists from Indonesia and abroad can meet in “Satu Payung”,” explained the Chairperson of the Umbrella Festival Indonesia 2019 Heru Prasetya in Soloevent at the Mataya Arts & Heritage base camp on Wednesday (6/12/2019).
This year, the umbrella craftsmen from Thailand, Vietnam, China, and Pakistan will join.
It will take place at the Garuda Mandala Prambanan Temple, on September 6-8, 2019, here also enliven by art communities from all over the country, such as Nusa Tenggara, Bali, Sulawesi, Java, and Sumatra. The groups will explore creativity according to their fields, such as music, fashion shows, dance, and seminars.
“So, it is also a form of celebration in various expressions of umbrella art,” Heru added.
The umbrella functions have evolution – start from the traditional or the interior and exterior decoration needs, Heru hopes that this event can bring new customers for the craftsmen.
