“There will be collaboration between the lion dance group and 20 drummers from Gilang Ramadhan Studio Band. Liong and Barongsai also use phosphorus,” explained the Chairperson of the 2569/2018 Chinese Lunar Solo Joint Committee, Sumartono Hadinoto, at a press conference at the Surakarta Society Building, Tuesday (02/06/2018).
The Lunar New Year will be held February 15, 2018, also enlivened by music performances. It will start at 7:00 – 12:00 a.m. located in the south of Pasar Gede Monument.
Besides that, you can take pictures with the lanterns around Pasar Gede. There will be 5,000 lanterns since 6 February – 6 March and will switch on 6 – 11 p.m. in Solo Chinatown.
The activities held during the Lunar New Year are expected to make Solo as a Chinese tourist destination in Indonesia. “This is also a branding that Solo is a plural city,” said Sumartono.
