Soloevent.id – Over a year since its last appearance in Solo, Payung Teduh greeted fans again.
On Friday (2/15/2019), there was something different from Payung Teduh. There is no more Mohammad Istiqamah Djamad. The man who is often called Is has parted ways with Payung Teduh.
His position as lead guitarist was replaced by Ivan Penwyn. He was accompanied by two guest vocalists, Marsya Ditia and Citra Nur Hasanah. Aziz “Comi” Kariko and Alejandro “Cito” Saksakame remained behind the bass and drums. Then there is also Panji (keyboard), Doni (guitar), and Taufik (trumpet) who become additional players when live.
Although the folk band appeared with a new formation, they can kill their absence for a year. The seat is filled with its fans at The Sunan Hotel Solo Grand Ballroom.
The concert titled Harmoni Rasa starts at 21.15 WIB. “Cerita tentang Gunung dan Laut” was the opening song. The romantic atmosphere is felt even more when they sing Rahasia
Comi told what’s new. “We’re a theater band. We play music in the theater. That’s why it is always a crowd. Every performance is a new song,” he said.
One of the theater songs they played at the Harmoni Rasa concert was Malam. “This song was in a theatrical performance entitled Matahari di Belakang, which was staged at the end of 2006. This song was written by Amalia Puri,” explained Comi.
That night, Payung Teduh played many songs from his latest album, Mendengar Suara. One of them is Pagi Belum Sempurna. Luckily, their fans hear it for the first time here.
They also have the opportunity to listen to “Sebuah Lagu” which became the soundtrack of the Walt Disney animated film, Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet. In the song, Marsya Ditia sings for it. “This song was written by Cito and will be delivered by Marsya, she is our manager for 10 years,” Comi said.
Before the concert, Payung Teduh had a chance to talk with the media. Comi and friends would not play songs that could potentially cause friction with their former guitarist vocalists. So, some hits from Payung Teduh, such as Untuk Perempuan yang Sedang dalam Pelukan, Menuju Senja, Akad, etc. not included in the setlist.
Around 22.40 WIB, Payung Teduh ended the show with Resah. The song created by Catur Ari Wibowo was successful in creating the most sing along.
