Soloevent.id – Mmmm, what do you think about the face of Indonesia if it is displayed in watercolor paintings? If you want to know the answer, you can stop at Bentara Budaya Soedjatmoko Hall on July 14-20, 2018. The Cat Air Indonesia Painting Community (Kolcai) is holding the IV National Exhibition there.

This exhibition was attended by Kolcai members from all over Indonesia and two artists from abroad. There are more than 92 works displayed. The whole theme is “Cinta Warna Indonesia”.

The objects displayed reveal how rich Indonesia is, starting from culture, culinary, panorama, and more. One of them is “Afternoon at Pasar Gede” owned by Irwan Widjayanto. He described the activities in Pasar Gede, Solo, when the day would be late.

One more work that describes Solo is “Lelap”. The painter, Candra Martoyo, through his brush made a becak driver who was sleeping soundly in his pedicab.

In this event there is also competition. There are six works that won awards. The first winner was achieved by Balinese painter, Nur Ilham. The painting entitled “Pesan Terakhir” depicts a dead trucuk bird on a ketapang leaf.

Through the work that was completed in April 2018, Nur wanted to give a statement about the environment. “This [environment] is a global issue, not only in Indonesia. The main cause of these problems is human exploitation. In life there is a continuous connection, if this continues to be done by humans themselves who will lose. And through death it is given advice, “he said when met by Soloevent.

This National Exhibition is an annual agenda of Kolcai. In the previous edition, the community that had more than 25 thousand members had held exhibitions in Bandung (2013) and Bali (2014, 2016). Through this exhibition, the Chairperson of the Community of Indonesian Water Paint Painting, Candra Martoyo, hopes that watercolor painting can be more developed and respected.
