Soloevent.id – For Irawati Kusumorasri, art become a way of life. The 53-year-old woman is Director of Solo International Performing Arts and Director of the Mangkunegaran Art Academy. Besides that, Ira was also the initiator of other art events in Solo, Semarak Budaya Indonesia and the International Mask Festival. She also founded the Semarak Candra Kirana dance studio in 1998.

Ira knew art – especially dance – by her parent. “My parents are not artists, they are both civil servants. They like to enjoy art and trained their daughters to dance, “she said when she was met by Soloevent at the Solo International Performing Arts Secretariat on Thursday (08/30/2018). Since junior high school, Ira began to practice dancing. Dance course is done at home once a week. Ira was trained directly by the dance masters from Pura Mangkunegaran. “I think you want to have a daughter who can dance well, you can peye [get a dance calling],” Ira said while chuckling.

After successfully mastering dance, Ira’s dancing abilities were offered by her mother to her friends who would have a party. “Eh, anakku njoget ndang,” Ira said imitating her mother’s words. Long story, Ira finally succeeded in performing from one celebration to another. The dance calling even increased during high school-student years. The woman born December 12, 1963 revealed, from Saturday night to Sunday afternoon, she was always invited to appear. When there was a response, Ira no longer danced alone. She performed with her friends. “My mother will coordinate friends. She manages me, “Ira said with laugh.

How much, yes, did the honor Ira get?

“It is 15 thousand. That’s if the wedding ceremony is in the building. If [marginalized] now is about 1.5 million. Because of love of peye, my high school time was the most money. My pocket money is also the most among my schoolmates. Besides making snacks, I also bought the honorarium for dance and novel books. ”

Ira looks happy when talking about the paragraph above. Yes, it seems that the dance has contributed greatly to the career of Irawati Kusumorasri. She continued, from there he enjoyed the dance world and often watched art shows, especially dance. “Finally, I plunged into the art world and went deeper. Finally I was offered to hold SIPA. At that time, I was only a bismillah. The problem is I don’t know managerial knowledge, I don’t have the knowledge to organize an event. Bismillah.” she said.

It didn’t feel like the event he was fostering, SIPA, this year was 10 years old. Ira is committed to continuing SIPA. “I want to know how far SIPA can happen. Before I transfer to someone else, to another generation, SIPA must be done first, I have to maintain it first with commitment. I have to work hard and have high spirits. My chemistry is in performing arts. Hopefully I am given the power to carry on and can relay to the generation below me. “
