Soloevent.id – Solo International Performing Arts (SIPA) will be held again this year. The eleventh edition of SIPA will be held from 5-7 September 2019 at Vastenburg Fortress.
SIPA 2019 will feature 80% of dance performances and 20% of music and theater performances. Not only local communities but foreign delegations were also involved. The portion of performers is 10 domestic and 10 from abroad.
This year, the theme raised was “Art as Social Action”. This means that art performances are expected to be agents of change that can change the lines of life, starting from social, community, and various other lines.
Met by Soloevent at the Central Java Provincial Synergy Coordination Meeting at Alana Hotel and Convention Center Solo on Monday (4/29/2019), representatives of the SIPA committee Naim Rizal said that the special thing about the performance this time was the involvement of young artists under the age of 30 years. “The reason for choosing young performers is everything changes begin with the younger generation,” he explained.
The SIPA 2019 icon was also selected from young Solo figures that were inspiring and had a new spirit. The plan is that the icon will be introduced to the public after Eid al-Fitr.
Naim added that so far there were some viewers who had confirmed their arrival at SIPA 2019. The viewers were curated by the Director of SIPA Irawati Kusumorasri assisted by dance artist Eko Supriyanto or known as Eko Pece.
This year, Solo International Performing Arts were crowned in the top 10 events in Central Java by the Ministry of Tourism.
