Indonesian Theater Community Gather at Sala Hatedu

Soloevent.idSala Hatedu was held at the Wisma Seni Taman Budaya Jawa Tengah (TBJT). Theatrical performances and reading of literary works were attended by dozens of theater communities from various cities in Indonesia. Hatedu (World Theater Day) is celebrated every March 27th. In Solo, the event has been held for the sixth time.

Chairperson of Sala Hatedu #6 Turah Hananto said the event was for making friendship, exchange of ideas, and gathering with the theater community. “Here, the community wants to explore hobbies and talents. Every year performers always increases, they voluntarily come from various cities to celebrate this Hatedu, “he explained when met by Soloevent at TBJT Art House on Monday (4/22/2019). Turah added, Sala Hatedu #6 was postponed because there were elections and various other things.

Sala Hatedu raised theme “Membaca Millennial”. There are 50 theater communities from inside and outside the country who are performing.

The participants from Surakarta were Puspa Group Al Firdaus High School, Jaringan Teater Pelajar, Teater Gidag Gidig, Teater Depan Politama, Sanggar Seni Kemasan, Sanggar Pasinaon Pelang; Lamongan diwakili Mahrus Ali, Teater Ginyo, Dhoet Teater; from Wonosobo there were Sanggar Jagad Kahyangan; Yan Jangkrik, Dkk, Pasca Manusia Pra Sampah, Jam Malam menjadi delegasi Yogyakarta; Surabaya delegations Teater Kusuma, Ragil Theatre, Esto Theatre, Teater Wilwatikta; Jakarta stared by Prodi Seni Teater FSP-IKJ, Teater Jiwa, Teater Keliling; and also Ardilla Diastasari from Salatiga; Street Theatre from Riau; the last were Teater Koplak and Teater SOCA from Kendal.

Here, there are four performers from abroad, FiTa Theater, Mawar Zainal Ariffin, Tellaz Team (Malaysia) and Singa Muntah Theater (Singapore).

One of the theaters that performed at that time was from Lesehan Teater Kampus, LETKAS (Surakarta). They performed pantomime and theatrical performances of poetry by Hana Imara, Attaufiq, Nanda, and Ucil. Letkas (Lesehan Teater Kampus in Solo Raya) began from gathering of campus theater groups representatives in Solo Raya. Finally, in December 2017, it was declared Soloraya campus theater forum. According to the agreement, the name of the community changed and was declassified as Letkas.

From this event, Turah hoped that the theater would be more liked and get appreciation.

Sala Hatedu #6 is held from Sunday-Tuesday (21-23 / 4/2019). The event was also filled with various other activities, such as pantomime, installation arts, gatherings, poetry musicalisations, workshops and reading literary works.
