Speaking of Europe, maybe one thing that immediately occurred to you was the song “The Final Countdown”. The phenomenal hits issued in 1986 became the masterpiece of Joey Tempest and his friends.

But, the classic European song is not just “The Final Countdown”. There are many other songs that are fun to listen to. Soloevent chose five of them. Yes, who knows, these songs will be played by Europe on the stage of the Volcano Rock Festival.

  1. “Seven Doors Hotel”

This song is all first. “Seven Doors Hotel” is one of the songs from Europe’s debut album titled the same as the band’s name. In addition, this song was the first song written for their self-titled album which was released in 1983. “Seven Doors Hotel” became the first step for Europe to be known to the world.

The vocalist, Joey Tempest, remembers the time he visited Japan, and he found “Seven Doors Hotel” widely played in clubs. “This is an important song at the beginning of our career. Feel this song feels different, and this is a good song. The guitar solo melody is also cool, “he told loudersound.com.

  1. “Open Your Heart”

Joey said, when I first heard “Open Your Heart”. Dieter Derks (producer of the Scorpion band) immediately contacted Europe to invite cooperation. The song from the album Wings of Tommorow is also a bright way for Europe’s musical career.

  1. “Rock the Night”

After this song was made, “Rock the Night” never missed the list of songs that Europe played during the gig. “This song is very good when it’s delivered live and people like it,” Joey explained.

“Rock the Night” was the second single from the 1986 album, The Final Countdown. This song also became the soundtrack for a Swedish film titled “On the Loose”.

  1. “Carrie”

Compared to “The Final Countdown” and “Rock the Night” which both came from the album The Final Countdown, “Carrie” sounded softer, had a scent of ballads, tended to be melancholy, and thick in nuances of the 80s.

In the fall of 1987, “Carrie” won 3rd place on the Billboard Hot 100. In the current era, this song is still suitable to be a broken heart soundtrack.

  1. “Superstitious”

Because it was released after the glory of the album The Final Countdown, the first single from Out of This World (1988) was initially doubtful. Many people compare with The Final Countdown. “We don’t listen to them. We just want to make a good album, “said Joey Tempest. “Superstitious” is arranged with hard rock music with a touch of blues. “
